Bologna the 'fat', an introduction

| | 14 commenti

Bologna is a city with a strong culinary culture,  well-known  as 'Bologna la grassa' ('Fat Bologna'). You can enjoy innumerable dishes starting from pasta (tortellini and lasagne), going on with meat (prosciutto, salame and mortadella) and cheese. The local region is also well known for Parmesan cheese, Modena balsamic vinegar and of course some great wines. Are you hungry? Well because we are going to the market:::
One of the most traditional food shopping places is called "Mercato delle erbe", downtown in Ugo Bassi Street. Since the beginning of the century, this covered vegetable market was held in city centre and the present building was inaugurated in 1949, after the war devastation. There are about 60 stalls; the core of the market is mostly dedicated to fruit and vegetables but in the outer walls you can find more of the local products: cheeses, pastas, bread, fish and  meat.

The amazing news is that last year it was recovered and renovated creating a modern and animated place where, near the indoor market, you can taste local food at any time in the day. It offer such a rich variety of dishes: you can choose from trying handcraft beers, local wines, fresh fruit shakes, pizza and panini. There is also a restourant with the most famous dishes of our region.
I like this market so much because there is a modern atmosphere into a vintage context because all the shop sign are original!

So this week end I discover this fabulous market with my friends::: what a perfect place to rest and refresh after shopping!

Have a great Tuesday!

I'm so happy with how they came out! I think I'm improve a little bit in respect to my first and awkward attemp to design gloves::: The pattern is really easy to make even for beginners and mittens will keep your hands and wrists warm this winter!

I used a 4 mm hook and soft wool (Drops Karisma is the yarn used in the sample). The color choices are endless; don't be afraid to mix things up!

Hoping you have a fabulous week!

Looking back..

| | 10 commenti

Hello lovelies! I hope you all enjoy Christmas break and family time! In Italy, Christmas Holidays aren't over until today (the Epiphany day). Tomorrow morning probably will be a shock to get ready for normal routine, I don't wanna think about that!

Anyway I suppose one of the highlights of any crafters is the year end review, mostly made by pictures. It's a colorful way to look back at the last twelve months, organize your pictures and thinking about your last projects. So here we go::: just a quick round-up of my crafty creations blogged about in 2014.  Not a lot made really in this first year, but I start to crochet in 2013, and I have so much to learn!

I would like to thank you for your friendship and support in my first time blogging and

I wish you all a very happy New Year!!

May 2015 bring you happiness and joy and everything you wish for!
